'No black men' - racism rampant in local sex trade

So much for political correctness: many sex trade workers are posting blatantly racist ads on their advertisements, unashamedly banning visits from black men.
Forget your Jackie Robinson vision of Montreal where blacks and whites live in harmony, these "no black men" ads expose the reality that prejudice is alive and well.
These notes appear on at least a dozen advertisements without explanation, many of the escorts who practice the restriction are black.
(A pair of sex workers, Adrianna and Hot curvy milf 44, mention that black men are welcome.)
Coolopolis posed as a "clean, respectful and gentle" black man and asked whether an encounter would be possible.
Of the eight of the women we texted, only one offered an explanation.
"It's just to keep the pimps away." and "some of them are scary I had weird people show up."
Another wrote back "no black." The other six did not reply.
The black man ban is nothing new. Indeed I attempted to research the blatant racism several years ago but gave up after a leader of an anti-racism organization refused to comment.
Now before vilifying women who post those notes, consider that they are vulnerable and their work puts them on the front lines of violence and abuse.
Their first responsibility is to their own safety and mental stability, so one can certainly understand that they reserve the right to do what they deem right for them.
Some other ads specify that only older men are welcome, an ageism a little less troubling than weeding out customers based on the colour of their skin.

Politics of pimping

Black men are being unfairly maligned and profiled surely due to a tiny minority that have made a living at pimping women, a practice which involves confiscating their money.
They include Jahmane Bolton, also known as the Montreal rapper Frost, who recently completed a prison bid for pimping.
The politics of pimping briefly became the topic du jour at the end of October when the amazing story of Zola the stripper from Detroit became an internet sensation.
If you did not follow this must-read story, it's about a woman from Detroit who ventured to Florida with a new friend named Jess in order to strip together
The story sees two pimps violently competing for control over Jess, while the narrator watches on in terror.
It gets ugly and violent and surely a movie is in the works.
Some have disputed the truthfulness of the story but it does nothing to diminish the prejudices that we see in the local sex ads.
