Could this be her? |
Brisebois is indeed dead and her former longtime husband is in prison but he's still vigorously denying that he killed the onetime waitress her met at the Le Prive bar around 1980.
Barretto-Morales lived a legendary life of spending in Montreal from 1980-1984, chronicled in an anecdote-filled profile by Dan Burke.
While living in a $250,000 Baie D'Urfe mansion, Barretto spent millions on parties. According to legend once hired something like 30 hookers at once to perform an elaborate sex act in a circle.
He was apparently behind bringing a lot of the cocaine to the Montreal Expos, which is seen as having led them to under perform in the 80s.
He fled Montreal after police were on his tail but was caught in Europe a year later travelling on a fake passport.
He tried to fight extradition from the Netherlands to Canada, that's when we lost trail of him. But we know he ended up back in Peru with Brisebois.
In the Spanish-language article from November 2011 Barretto was described as a drug dealer with multiple identities.
Brisebois was found dead of a gunshot wound which investigators said did not correspond with a suicide.
He is now in prison and reportedly wants to write an autobiography.
